This is my entry for the 2000 AD All-Star Competition 2023, where I created a single-page comic featuring the iconic character Judge Dredd, originally conceived by Carlos Ezquerra. My story revolves around a gang of mutants trafficking toxic waste and Judge Dredd's relentless pursuit to stop them and uphold the law. To craft this comic, I immersed myself in the Complete Case Files, paying special attention to the works of Ian Gibson to capture the essence of the character.
I employed meta-techniques and utilized the gutter as a narrative space, with the mutants consistently appearing in the gutter as outlaws hiding from the Judges. Compressing a story with a clear beginning, middle, and end into a single page was a challenging yet rewarding process, requiring extensive work on the script, and page layout.
I showcased the comic at the Royal College of Art's Hidden Art Show, London 2023, along with my project Lifedrawing in the London Underground; and later would produced a risograph version.
